Glasgow University Wedding Photographer | Malissa and Gordon
So we're already into the second quarter of the year and I'm in full blown wedding season. Lots of amazing weddings to show you all already so keep an eye out as they'll be popping up on here in the not too distant future.
Today we have Malissa and Gordon. Malissa has the most beautiful Irish accent and with all her friends and family over for the wedding I was chatting to as many people as I could. Not just because their accent was a pleasure to listen to but they were all extremely nice and the bridesmaid laughed from start to finish. Gordon is the quiet IT guy and the perfect match for Malissa. They were very easy to photograph and embraced the wedding with everything they had.

Avonbridge Hotel Wedding Photographer | Nic and Dom
What a lovely chilled out day this was at the Avonbridge Hotel, literally 5 minutes from my house which is always nice.
Nic and Dom have been together since they were a couple of young bucks. Only 15! They met up for their first date....in the pub!
The day was chilled out and they celebrated with a small number of friends and family before the bus load came for the evening shindig. A super easy couple to photograph especially with Nic being an absolute knockout in a lovely vintage styled lace dress. Dom, you looked OK mate, even though we had to keep telling you to tuck your shirt in.

Wedding Photographer South Queensferry.
oday I bring you the wedding of Gavin and Alyson. A fun filled day on the beach in the quaint town of South Queensferry at Orocco Pier.
I had been looking forward to this wedding after my initial meeting with Gavin and Alyson. They were relaxed but organised and knew they wanted the day documented with little fuss. My ideal kind of peeps so when the day came around and I was greeted with smiles in the morning at Bridal prep, I knew I was in for a great wedding. I was not disappointed.

Glasgow Wedding Photographer | Smiles of 2016
SSSooooo much fun looking through all the weddings I photographed in this year. I am so lucky to have THEE BEST couples book me for their weddings. Yearly recap blog posts tend to show off only the best pictures a photographer has taken during that year. I like to show the images that show off what weddings are all about...happiness. Obviously there's much more to it, the happiness is what I enjoy most. So here's my version...Smiles of 2016.
Thank you to everyone who was in front of my lens this year, I love you all.
See if you can spot me in one of these images.

Glasgow University | Loch Lomond Arms Wedding Photographer.
Absolute belter of a wedding to show you all today! The story of a tall man and a short woman. Lindsay and Ross, booked me only 6 months before their wedding (a very late booking for me) then turned out to be one of the best weddings I've photographed this year.
They married at Glasgow University Chapel and then onto the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel which sits proudly in the small village of Luss. We headed down the water (obviously) and spent some time trying to not get any Japanese tourists in the background of the images (we failed, thank goodness for the clone tool in Photoshop) and l I had a lot of fun at their wedding.
Prepare yourself for 2 very good looking people ladies and gentleman...

Photographing a friends wedding is special for a number of reasons.
Reason 1 - You feel that extra connection to the couple.
Reason 2 - Guests also tend to know you so are even more comfortable with you buzzing around taking pictures.
Most importantly, Reason 3 - You can get drunk.

Dalziel Park has a special place in my heart. In my first year of business I photographed there a couple of times. I hadn't been back in about 4 years so I was excited to see what I could do there with much more experience.
I totally lucked out as it was an absolute glorious day and I had a couple who let me do anything I wanted and didn't moan (too much) when I was gushing over the amazing light we got after dinner (You'll see later).
Diane and Scott are the type of couple that when you first meet them, you feel like you've known them for years. Extremely welcoming and lovely people, just my type of people.

Cottiers Wedding Photographer | Alan and Catherine
I absolutely love a city wedding and Cottiers Theatre, set in Glasgows West End, is the perfect location. Alan and Catherine spent a lot of time and effort putting special touches on their wedding. From Alan's brownie point achieving wedding presents for Catherine in the morning (look out for the love note that could pass as a ransom note) to the miles of bunting they MADE THEMSELVES!!!!! to the Buckfast favours and we can't forget the 150 tea cups and saucers that Alan and Catherine spent so long washing.
Their wedding was made even more special to me as they are friends of mine which meant I got to drink beer, after the camera was put away of course. It's always nice to play a role in your friends weddings so i was lucky to have such creative friends who know how to put on a wedding!
It's at this point I let the pictures do the talking.

Ross Priory Wedding Photographer | Darren and Michelle
It's no secret that Ross Priory, Loch Lomond is probably my favourite venue. The building has that gothic vibe, it sits right on the water with a stunning view and the gardens....oh my goodness..the gardens are stunning. It even has that gorgeous long driveway with trees lining the road leading up to it, and when it opens up to that stunning view over Loch Lomond, it's hard not to find yourself open mouthed in awe of its beauty.

Welcome to the first in the "Meet Your Supplier" series. I wanted to interview some of my friends in the wedding industry to try and help you guys prepare for when it comes to meeting suppliers to make things easier for both you and them.
There is so much choice nowadays. Almost nothing is too much or too little, too big or too small. It's very easy to be pulled in lots of different directions and if you are a Pinterest user...you'll know what I'm talking about. If I go on Pinterest on a Monday morning at 9am you can be assured that by 5pm I have 60 new boards ranging from whatever I was looking for initially to boards about interior design, storage hacks and smoothy recipes. It's a valuable tool but you can get lost in there.

How To Look Good In Your Wedding Pictures
Every couple aspires to look picture-perfect on their wedding day but unfortunately the camera doesn’t fancy everyone and most people get hackles when they pose for a picture (me included). When it comes to wedding photography, awkward grins and shifty poses are common. If your wedding day is fast approaching, be prepared that your photographer (ME!) is going to snap a boatload of photos. I love to capture moments as they happen but I will always give a little direction to help you guys out during your couple portraits. Try these little tips and tricks to conquer the ingrained camera phobia and get the most out of your wedding photos:

Over the Christmas period, I pretty much, had the the whole time off. It allowed me to catch up with friends and family, buy Christmas presents, do some more boring parts of the business like admin and invoicing etc but it was so good to be more in control of my time and not to feel a bit of stress with no deadlines and a pile of work staring me in the face

Being a wedding photographer has GOT to be one of the best jobs on the world. Seriously. We get to witness the best day of peoples lives and give them memories to keep forever. We meet an endless amount of amazing couples, hilarious family members and crazy guests. We laugh all day with them, we hug them and on the odd occasion, cry with them (happy tears of course).

Arran is the newest addition to my family. He is the son of my cousin Donna, and I was chuffed to spend a short time one morning photographing this little guy. Here, he is only 12 days old. It safe to say that babies rule the shoot. They do what they want and it's tough if it's not what you wanted. Good thing I enjoy shooting things as naturally as possible. We just let him do his thing and ended up with some beautiful natural family pictures of a new family.

Gemma and Peters wedding is one that I was really excited about as soon as Gemma's enquiry hit my inbox. 29 Glasgow was a venue that I had seen popping up on various blogs and I really wanted to shoot there, so when Gemma and Peter hired me for their wedding there, I was really happy. Things got better and better each time I spoke with Gemma. She was telling me about the little details they were having and that her dress was vintage beaded from Sarah Louise Bridal , this was all music to my ears.
