When a Canadian professional ice hockey player (Drydn) and his Scottish bride (Aimee) decided to tie the knot, it was a match made in heaven and although there were many teeth missing amongst Drydn’s hockey buddies (I witnessed a pretty cool party trick involving a pint of beer and a set of fake teeth), there was nothing but love in the air that day. I was so honoured to photograph their incredible day at The Byre at Inchyra. A classy barn venue in Perth.
Within the walled garden, we were treated to a fun but romantic ceremony conducted by the ever pleasant, Lenny Love (great name) and a heartfelt reading from Drydn’s sister. The ceremony ended with an epic confetti bomb celebration, and what better way to take your first walk as Mr & Mrs than with a kiss under a rainfall of confetti? Perfect.
The heat of the sun couldn't match the warmth in their hearts as they danced their first dance as a married couple. From ceilidh dances to disco fever, the barn transformed into a melting pot of traditions and celebrations involving some hilarious karaoke.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, it was time for an outfit change and Aimee shocked guests with a little sparkly number which I can’t describe, you’ll just have to look at the pics, she looked incredible!
And so, the Canadian hockey pro and his Scottish bride proved that love, like a well-aimed puck, can hit the mark no matter where it comes from. With laughter and cheers, they embarked on the ultimate game of life, on ice and beyond.
