Pollokshields Burgh Hall Wedding Photography
This was my first time at Pollokshields Burgh Hall and it was great! It's pretty much a DIY venue so you can style it in any way you like.
Megan and Shauns wedding took me back to my own wedding day. One of my biggest fears was that I was going to cry a lot. I thought I wouldn't be able to get my words out and I'd be all red and snottery, but in my experience, it's not guys like me that end up that way. It's the football loving, manly men who work as plumbers or joiners and drink beer with the lads who end up blubbering their eyes out and personally...I love it when it happens. Us photographers

When you walk into bridal prep in the morning and everyone chats away to you as if they've known you for years, you get a cuddle off the brides mum, and the bridesmaids are piercing their own ears...you KNOW you're onto a winner.

Scottish Engagement Shoot | Ben Lomond Wedding Photographer
Being a wedding photographer means you get to share a lot of personal experiences with a lot of people. You have to form a connection very quickly and it's critical that people can relax around you. Taking the photographs is one thing, but there's more to it than just clicking the shutter button.
On this occasion, forming the connection was a piece of cake as Kyle and Rachel are friends of mine. They are getting married next year in sunny Mexico but wanted a shoot here in Scotland. We decided on heading up Ben Lomond for a short walk and take in some stunning views. We timed it for early afternoon so we could catch some of that juicy golden light.

Glasgow West End Cottiers Wedding | Ross and Nicola
2017 has been the year of City weddings for me...and I have loved it. There's something about the architecture, the atmosphere, the hustle and bustle that makes weddings in the city that little bit more exciting.
Nic and Ross got in touch in late 2016 and from the first email, I knew they were my kinda people. They travelled up from London to their home town and got hitched in the wonderful Cottiers Theatre. As always, it delivered. It was a rainy day (in July for goodness sake) but we were lucky enough to get a break in the rain, right after the ceremony allowing us to take a wander around Glasgows West End.

Rufflets St Andrews Wedding Photographer | Dani and Ryan
I had been really looking forward to Dani and Ryans wedding ever since the first email exchange. I met up with Dani (Ryan was working away) and instantly I knew their wedding was going to be amazing. You can really feel Dani's love for life as soon as you speak to her. She's fun and happy and that's pretty much what I look for in all my couples so...boxes ticked. On the wedding day she couldn't stop smiling apart from when she was crying which was like every 5 minutes until the prosecco kicked in and she went from Emotional Dani to Party Dani. Both versions are awesome so it was all good.

2017 is totally bringing the goods. Each and every wedding and couple have been so great to be around. It's also brought me to a lot of new venues. Some of which are venues that for some reason I have never had the chance to photograph but are staples in the wedding venue market here in Scotland. Mar Hall being one of them.

When I sit down to write these blogs, I feel as though I am just repeating myself over and over. I type the first line, which is usually something like..."Man o' man this wedding was a beaut!" then I delete it and try to write something different. BUT, I am one lucky photographer and every wedding I document....is always a BEAUT!!!!!
So.....Man o' man this wedding was beaut!!! Cat and Stuart booked me aaaages ago and we finally met last October for their engagement shoot where we took a wander around a country park with their beautiful Golden Lab, DUGS NAME! It was like taking a walk with a couple of pals and I knew that their wedding day was going to be super chill and full of good folks. I was right.

Glasgow City Centre Wedding | One Devonshire Gardens Wedding Photographer
I've often found that last minute bookings can turn out to be the best weddings. Anna and Greg got in touch with me about a month before their wedding. I was fully booked and as wedding season begins to kick in, the stress was building BUT my gut feeling was that this wedding was going to be awesome.
I checked my diary and as it happens, I had their date available. Cut to a month later and I'm having the best time with Anna and Greg and 15 of their family at St Leos the Great and One Devonshire Gardens. It was so chilled and easy. I was welcomed with smiles and instantly felt relaxed.

Ross Priory Wedding Photographer | Valeria and Tony
So one afternoon about 3 weeks ago, an email pops into my inbox. A very cool email from a newly wed couple from Germany. They were visiting our beautiful country (Scotland duh) and were bringing along their wedding dress/suit and were looking for a shoot in Loch Lomond at and around their hotel. For reasons I wont go into, it wasn't possible, but the LEGENDS at Ross Priory said "nae bother, fill your boots" and our boots we did fill....filled with beautifulness.
I give you....Tony and Valeria

Callendar Park Engagement Session | Dani and Ryan
Dani and Ryan are getting married in July. They booked me in January 2016 but due to being a couple of jetsetters, we only managed to schedule in their engagement shoot a couple of weeks ago. It was worth the wait.
As us Scots know all to well, the Scottish weather can put a spanner in the works pretty easily so after keeping an eye on the weather for a few days before we decided to make the shoot nice and early to catch that beautiful morning light. We timed it perfectly.
A great warm up for the big day at Rufflets in July :)

Glasgow University Wedding Photographer | Malissa and Gordon
So we're already into the second quarter of the year and I'm in full blown wedding season. Lots of amazing weddings to show you all already so keep an eye out as they'll be popping up on here in the not too distant future.
Today we have Malissa and Gordon. Malissa has the most beautiful Irish accent and with all her friends and family over for the wedding I was chatting to as many people as I could. Not just because their accent was a pleasure to listen to but they were all extremely nice and the bridesmaid laughed from start to finish. Gordon is the quiet IT guy and the perfect match for Malissa. They were very easy to photograph and embraced the wedding with everything they had.

Avonbridge Hotel Wedding Photographer | Nic and Dom
What a lovely chilled out day this was at the Avonbridge Hotel, literally 5 minutes from my house which is always nice.
Nic and Dom have been together since they were a couple of young bucks. Only 15! They met up for their first date....in the pub!
The day was chilled out and they celebrated with a small number of friends and family before the bus load came for the evening shindig. A super easy couple to photograph especially with Nic being an absolute knockout in a lovely vintage styled lace dress. Dom, you looked OK mate, even though we had to keep telling you to tuck your shirt in.

oday I bring you the wedding of Gavin and Alyson. A fun filled day on the beach in the quaint town of South Queensferry at Orocco Pier.
I had been looking forward to this wedding after my initial meeting with Gavin and Alyson. They were relaxed but organised and knew they wanted the day documented with little fuss. My ideal kind of peeps so when the day came around and I was greeted with smiles in the morning at Bridal prep, I knew I was in for a great wedding. I was not disappointed.

SSSooooo much fun looking through all the weddings I photographed in this year. I am so lucky to have THEE BEST couples book me for their weddings. Yearly recap blog posts tend to show off only the best pictures a photographer has taken during that year. I like to show the images that show off what weddings are all about...happiness. Obviously there's much more to it, the happiness is what I enjoy most. So here's my version...Smiles of 2016.
Thank you to everyone who was in front of my lens this year, I love you all.

Glasgow University | Loch Lomond Arms Wedding Photographer.
Absolute belter of a wedding to show you all today! The story of a tall man and a short woman. Lindsay and Ross, booked me only 6 months before their wedding (a very late booking for me) then turned out to be one of the best weddings I've photographed this year.
They married at Glasgow University Chapel and then onto the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel which sits proudly in the small village of Luss. We headed down the water (obviously) and spent some time trying to not get any Japanese tourists in the background of the images (we failed, thank goodness for the clone tool in Photoshop) and l I had a lot of fun at their wedding.
Prepare yourself for 2 very good looking people ladies and gentleman...
